SMSC

The framework of VbE offers an assured foundation for the Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural (SMSC) development of pupils. In addition to fundamental British Values, School assemblies and lessons focus on the values progressively so that pupils deepen and challenge their understanding. Through exploring positive values in depth, pupils learn what these mean to them and their lives, and what application they have for other people and the wider world. The enactment of these values in shared behaviours, shared language and reflection across the school enables pupils to develop their cognitive understanding and personal ‘Inner Curriculum.’

We have put together a list of experiences/activities which we believe all pupils should experience by the time they leave our school. We call this our '101 Experiences' which can be seen in red text on the year group plans in our Curriculum section of the website.
